SRI YANTRA
WHAT IS YANTRA?
In Sanskrit, the word yantra derives from the root “yam” which means “instrument or support” and “tra” which comes from “trana” which means “liberation from slavery”.
A yantra is an instrument for meditation and contemplation that aids in spiritual liberation. There are thousands of yantra designs related to gods and planets. Used in rituals and ceremonies, yantras designs can be found on paper or bark or created from flower petals, ash, and rice.
MEANING OF SRI YANTRA
This symbol is made up of nine interlocking triangles that radiate outward from the center or attachment point. This central point is considered the meeting place or union between the physical world and the spiritual world or the unmanifested source. Of the nine triangles, four-point upwards towards the sky and are believed to represent the god Shiva (the masculine), while the other five, which point downwards, represent Shakti (or the feminine). That is why the Buddhist mandala is believed to be a potent symbol for the union of the divine masculine and feminine.
WHAT IS THIS TRIANGLE MANDALA USED FOR?
The best way to harness all the energy of this power mandala is through harmonizing a room, whether with a canvas, painting or suncatcher.
You can hang a fabric with this mandala of life on the room’s wall to create a suitable space for meditation.
WHAT DOES SRI MEAN?
Sri is a term of Sanskrit origin, used in India as a polite way of addressing someone, or as an epithet for Hindu deities’ names. It is also commonly used as a title of respect within the yoga community.
Sri comes from the Sanskrit word Shri, which is feminine and means “goddess of prosperity.” When used to denote Hindu gods’ names, it is translated in English as “holy.” Similarly, it can also be used as a term of respect and admiration for a revered or celebrated person.
SPIRITUAL MEANING OF THE TRIANGLE
The triangle as a symbol represents strength! Any weight placed on them is evenly distributed among all three sides. A triangle either way always represents force. Place a triangle symbol on your altar or use one as a reminder of how strong you are.
The four elements (earth, air, water, fire) are common for the triangle. Each piece can be represented by the use of triangles, and each part has its meaning.
Three is an auspicious number in numerology, and the triangle can be used to represent the meaning of the number. These are some of the meanings behind the number three.
· Luck! Have you ever used the term “the third time is the charm”?
· Creativity and expression
· Inspiration and optimism
There are many meanings in history and different religions that refer to trinities. Here are some examples:
· Mind, body and spirit.
· Past. Present and future.
· Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
· Life, death and rebirth.
This sacred geometry power symbol, Shri Yantra, comprises nine overlapping triangles creating a total of 43 smaller triangles. The Sri Yantra dates back through Hinduism, and the pattern is said to be the visual expression of OM.
SRI YANTRA AND SACRED GEOMETRY
An essential aspect of this topic is the confluence of mathematics and spirituality. All yantras are geometric designs that are used as aids in meditation and worship. These designs are characterized by a central point or point from which geometric shapes radiate.
Sri Yantra is a 1,000year-old mystical symbol that is considered the “mother of all Yantras.” The name translates to “sacred instrument”, and is based on the Golden Ratio.
SHIVA AND SHAKTI SYMBOLS
SHIVA symbolizes consciousness, the masculine principle.
SHAKTI symbolizes the feminine principle, the power of activation and energy.
Only when Shiva and Shakti combine can action, movement and creation arise. Until the energy is permeated with awareness, it is ignorant, disorderly, aimless, and “blind.” Energy alone cannot produce anything; consciousness gives it content, form and direction. On the contrary, consciousness without energy is latent power, stagnant energy, and alone cannot cause anything.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MANDALA AND YANTRA
If we make a more detailed study of the Sri yantra’s meaning, we will see its relationship with the mandala.
However, we can appreciate their differences. The Sri yantras are sacred symbols used by Hinduists and Buddhism, which represent the structure of the universe and the human being’s structure. It is considered a microcosmic replica of the macrocosm
It is a geometric representation of the cosmos. It is organized through a circle that represents the center of the universe and apart concentration support inscribed on a quadrangular platform. These yantras can be linear or geometric, while mandalas are figurative in shape.
The purpose of mandalas is similar to that of yantras, and they are used to increase concentration, knowledge and personal wisdom. Such as the toroid mandala.
TANTRA, YANTRA AND MANTRA
Tantra is a spiritual path that embraces life to awaken consciousness. Within Tantra Yoga, several techniques can be differentiated, such as mantra, yantra, ritual and meditation to purify and energize our being, which provides a deeper awareness of our spiritual existence. Tantra cultivates a devotional approach to practice, emphasizing Goddess’s worship, Shakti, and her consort Shiva. As we go deeper into the procedure, we finally experience the divine union of these male and female attributes.
SHREE YANTRA MANTRA
OM SHREEM HREEM SHREEM
KAMALE KAMALALEYI
PRASEEDA PRASEEDA
OM SHREEM HREEM SHREEM
MAHALAXMIYEI NAMAHA
This mantra, known as the Shree Yantra mantra, is a tribute to Mahalakshmi (Shree), the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity (material and spiritual), fortune, and the embodiment of beauty. She is the wife of Vishnu. If you recite this mantra daily 108 times, the worries and financial problems will disappear.
HOW TO DRAW SRI YANTRA
You must draw a circle and draw a vertical line that passes through the center, cutting the circle in two. And another horizontal line that goes through the center cutting the ring in two halves. Then draw two lines parallel to the latter, one above and one below (Green lines). And follow the steps as the drawings indicate.
At this point, you should draw two parallel lines above and below the two that you have drawn before (Green lines) and continue drawing lines as shown in the figures.
Again at this point, you must draw the 5th and last guide (green line) as shown in the figure in step 6.
Now in the center of the circumference, at the intersection of the two lines that we drew as a guide at the beginning, you must place the point or Bindu.
This completes the drawing of the central part of the Sri Yantra. The other petal circles and the outer square enclosure are not shown here.
